In today’s digital world, the computers have become inseparable instruments from children. It is not strange to find little kids playing with computers for hours on end. Therefore, it is a good idea to look at the effects of computers on little children. When parents are aware of these facts, they could take more effective decisions buying computers for kids.

There is good news for kids as well as for their parents from researchers. The latest research recommends the use of computers by preschool children. It has been found that when computers are used by preschool children their readiness to start their educational careers will be improved. Another finding is that kids that work with computers at both home and school are better performers than those that work with computers only in school. As such, if your preschool kid is playing with his computer at home, you never need to worry. 

Risks involved in the use of computer for kids

Not only kids but also adults could suffer from computer vision syndrome. Computer ergonomics basically is the Efficiency of those who work in front of their computer workstations. Computer vision syndrome and computer ergonomics are two interrelated issues. Therefore, it is good to have some guidelines on how long a kid should sit in front of a computer.

How to reduce the risk of computer vision syndrome of kids



Sitting in front of the computer in the right way could avoid kids from developing this problem. It is necessary for kids to sit in a posture called the “neutral” posture. 

·         *When a kid sits in front of a computer in this manner the head of the kid will be resting on his neck without giving more weight to one side. The computer should be placed in such a way that the head be at an angle of 15 Degrees when looking at the computer screen.

·         *The shoulders and the back need to be straight but should be relaxed. It should not be necessary to be bending on the keyboard either.

·         *Upper arms should be rested close to the body.

·         *The forearms need to be relaxed on the deck and at elbows you need to have an angle of at least 90°. The legs should be resting on a foot rest or on the ground. There should be an angle of 90° at knees.

When you follow these few tips your kid will be saved from all the problems the computer using kids could face.
